VBE provide a complete service when it comes to car restoration, and the Trim Department is one of our busiest. Our specialities include hand-crafting bespoke seats, hoods, tonneaux and fabric body trimming — plus carpets and all other interior trim incidentals.
We provide a wide range of leather hides, selected for their quality, grain and colour. Our preferred carpet is Wilton — good quality with a plethora of colour choices. From door panels to hood bags, good old-fashioned skill and craftsmanship are the backbone of this in-house specialism. The Trim Shop works across a variety of marques, not just Bentleys.
Restored, preserved or made new
The Trim Department can restore, preserve or fabricate new seats to your requirements. Combining old-fashioned hand skills and modern techniques, we can tailor seats to suit your driving needs — or put back original-type arrangements altered during a vehicle's life.
As well as re-upholstering existing seats with traditional materials, VBE can offer coil springs, airbag or layered foam cushioning to achieve the required comfort. The VBE Trim Shop is well known for its high standards of craftsmanship and authenticity of style.

VBE carpet trimming is renowned for its extra attention to detail. Carpets are essential, practical elements of any car — they have to be durable, functional and blend in seamlessly.
If you're thinking of replacing or refreshing your carpets, we offer extensive colour-matching experience, a vast array of colour choices and a range of binding options. Updating carpets is a quick, simple way to completely change your interior while staying sympathetic to the car.
A lifetime's experience
Fabric body covering is also part of the trim capability, using both traditional and modern techniques to achieve outstanding results.
Our head trimmer's lifetime of experience began with a Rolls-Royce apprenticeship — followed by Mulliner Park Ward, Hooper and Aston Martin among others — ensuring he has the skills to work in both modern and traditional idioms.
Weather equipment built to endure
Hoods, tonneau covers and sidescreens are the little necessities that protect your car against the elements. Even if seldom used, deployed all-weather equipment is subject to huge stresses — it is often forgotten that 60–100mph wind speeds cause serious structural damage to buildings, yet this is what many vintage cars are expected to tolerate without failure.
For this reason alone, attention to the design and robustness of weather equipment is a priority task during restoration at VBE. Clients are offered a variety of materials, colours and fastenings, and various tonneau configurations to suit individual usage.
